Media General has officially launched its month-long Ghana Month celebration on March 2, spotlighting the nation’s rich cultural heritage.

The event, held at a specially created “Ghana Month Village,” drew notable guests including Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Director of the National Theatre of Ghana Henry Malm, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority Abeiku Aggrey, and veteran actor Fred Amugi, among others.

In his welcome address, Chief Operations Officer Nuamah Eshun-Fameye called for a national “mindset reset,” urging Ghanaians to redefine “street credibility” around substance and positive impact. He highlighted figures such as Wode Maya, Dr. Regina Agyare of Soronko Academy, Alloysius Attah of Farmerline, Richmond Bassey of Flutterwave, Mohammed Kudus of the Black Stars and West Ham United, innovators at Kantanka Automobile, and Safi Sana as examples of individuals building Ghana through innovation, discipline, and enterprise.

He lamented what he described as growing negativity in public discourse and encouraged citizens to choose encouragement over suspicion and hope over cynicism, noting that changing mindsets is key to national transformation.

Mr. Abeiku Aggrey praised Media General for its authentic showcase of Ghana’s traditions — from attire and language to cuisine, music, and storytelling — emphasizing the media’s vital role not only in informing the public but also in preserving and promoting national identity.
