Morocco commends Chief Imam

The Moroccan Mission in Ghana has commended the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Usman Nuhu Sharubutu for his exemplary leadership role in strengthening cordial relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Ghana in his capacity as the spiritual head of the Ghana Branch of King Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema.

Paying a courtesy call on the Chief Imam today (July 29) to offer her warmest congratulations on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha and receive his blessings on the Moroccan National Day (which falls on July 30, 2020) the Moroccan Ambassador to Ghana, Mrs Imane Ouaadil lauded the National Chief Imam for his immense contribution towards the maintenance of peace and promoting national development in the country.

“We recognise the strong and compassionate leadership, wisdom and guidance of the Chief Imam especially during these unsettling times of COVID-19 pandemic and the courageous decisions he has taken to guide the Muslim community in Ghana to comply with safety standards and health regulations put in place by the Government of Ghana in order to keep the pandemic in control,” she stated.

The Ambassador further wished the Chief Imam good health, strength, and Allah’s ever-present grace as he leads the Muslim community to celebrate this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.

Mrs Imane Ouaadil on behalf of the Kingdom of Morocco presented two Rams and bags of flour to the Chief Imam to be shared among the vulnerable Muslim community as they celebrate the Eid-ul-Adha.

Gratitude

On his part, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu expressed thanks and appreciation to the Moroccan ambassador for her kind gesture and offered prayers and blessings for good health and long life for the King of Morocco and for the wellbeing and prosperity of the people of Morocco.
