Boxing legends Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. have agreed to a highly anticipated professional rematch scheduled for Saturday, 19 September, at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The bout will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Mayweather, 48, recently confirmed he will come out of retirement for a fourth time. His last professional fight was in 2017, when he defeated Conor McGregor by 10th-round technical knockout.
Pacquiao, 47, retired in 2021 to focus on politics but returned to the ring last July to face Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title, a bout that ended in a draw.
The pair first fought in 2015 in a record-breaking contest dubbed the “Fight of the Century” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Mayweather won that encounter by unanimous decision in what remains the richest fight in boxing history.
Mayweather holds a perfect 50-0 professional record, with 27 knockouts, while Pacquiao boasts 62 wins in 73 fights.
Further details about the undercard and ticket sales are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
