GhanaFest Alberta Festival of Trade, Arts & Culture is an annual event organized by the GhanaFest Alberta Foundation in collaboration with the Afrifest Canada Foundation and under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture. This vibrant festival aims to promote trade, celebrate Ghana’s rich cultural diversity, and foster peace and unity among all citizens.

Excitement is building as Alberta prepares to host its first GhanaFest event in Edmonton. This highly anticipated festival will feature a variety of activities designed to showcase the best of Ghanaian culture, including music, dance, and art. The event is set to take place on July 20th, 2024, at the picturesque Louise McKinney Riverfront Park, located at 9999 Grierson Hill NW, Edmonton, AB T5H 2A4.

Attendees can look forward to performances by some of Ghana’s most beloved artists, including Samini, Akwaboa, Kofi Kinaata, and many other talented Ghanaian-Canadian artists. These performances promise to deliver an unforgettable experience, filled with the vibrant sounds and rhythms of Ghana.

Ms. Esther Nana Araba Assabil, the President of the GhanaFest Alberta Foundation and CEO of GhanaFest Alberta Inc., is at the helm of this exciting initiative. Ms. Assabil, who previously served as the International Ambassador of GhanaFest Toronto, Canada, is dedicated to bringing this celebration to Edmonton and ensuring it is a resounding success.
