The State Housing Company Limited (SHCL) has officially handed over a newly completed four-storey, 24-unit apartment complex to the Ghana Immigration Service in Savelugu, located in the Northern Region.

In a statement  described the project—commissioned by the Minister for the Interior, Mr. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak—as a significant milestone in SHCL’s commitment to supporting national security through sustainable and dignified housing.

Initiated in 2016 under a partnership between SHCL and the Ghana Immigration Service, the project aims to provide modern accommodation for junior officers stationed at Tamale International Airport and the northern security corridor.

At the commissioning ceremony, Mr. Muntaka praised SHCL for delivering a high-quality facility that not only addresses housing needs but also boosts the morale and welfare of security personnel.

The Acting Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mr. Samuel Basintale Amadu, expressed gratitude to the government and SHCL, noting that the project would ease accommodation challenges for officers and their families in the region.

SHCL Managing Director, Mr. John S. Bawah, reiterated the company’s dedication to delivering affordable, durable housing, especially for frontline and essential service workers. He emphasized that the project reflects SHCL’s ability to implement impactful, government-led housing initiatives that support national development.

As part of efforts to expand housing for the Immigration Service, Mr. Muntaka also performed a sod-cutting ceremony for a new 24-unit complex dedicated to senior officers, to be constructed at the same location. SHCL will oversee this second phase, which will feature added amenities tailored to the needs of senior staff
