The Standard Chartered Foundation has opened applications for the 2026 edition of its Women in Tech Accelerator in Ghana, marking the sixth year of the initiative aimed at empowering women-led, tech-enabled startups.

The programme is designed to help early-stage female entrepreneurs build sustainable and resilient businesses in ecosystems that often prioritise rapid scale over long-term enterprise development.

Delivered in partnership with Village Capital and implemented by the Ghana Climate Innovation Centre (GCIC) at Ashesi University, the Accelerator provides catalytic grant funding, structured business training, and tailored mentorship. The goal is to equip participants with the skills, networks, and confidence needed to grow revenue-generating enterprises that create jobs and drive social impact.

Since its inception, the programme has supported founders who collectively have added nearly 100,000 new customers, created more than 125 jobs, and increased revenues by GHS 3.8 million.

Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC, Mansa Nettey, said the initiative addresses persistent inequalities that limit the growth of women-led businesses and reinforces the Bank’s commitment to inclusion and economic empowerment.

Pearl Esua-Mensah, Executive Director of GCIC, noted that the programme strengthens participants’ capacity to scale sustainably while delivering impact within their communities.

Applications close on March 31, 2026, with the Accelerator scheduled to run from April to August 2026.
