Apostle Robert Kwabena Andoh, the Berekum Area Head of the Church of Pentecost in the Bono Region, has urged the Christian community to remain at the forefront of environmental cleanliness and sustainability.

He said cleanliness remained a key Christian value, urging them to keep their environment neat by conducting regular clean-up exercises in the localities.

Apostle Andoh gave the advice when he led the congregants of the Berekum Church of Pentecost in a clean-up exercise to keep the streets and gutters of the township clean.

He stated that besides the spiritual development of people, the Christian community had a huge responsibility in partnering with the government to facilitate progressive national development, saying good environmental sanitation would reduce the nation’s disease burden.

Apostle Andoh emphasised that the church would continue to contribute to the holistic development of the nation and urged other areas under the church to emulate, saying environmental cleanliness aligned with the church’s broader vision.

He urged traders and businesses in the Berekum township to eschew littering and indiscriminate dumping of plastic waste to choke gutters.

The congregants desilted choked gutters, picked plastic waste during the exercise which took them through the principal streets of the Township.
