Match Day 2 of the 2026 Honda Football Championship at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium saw University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS) secure their second straight win with a 2-1 victory over Tamale Technical University (TaTU).
TaTU made a strong start, taking an early lead in the 10th minute through Alhassan Fuseini, whose well-executed finish set the tone for a competitive encounter.
UBIDS responded quickly, with Abdulai Zakari equalising in the 18th minute to restore parity and swing momentum in their favour.
Both teams battled intensely for control, with the match appearing to be heading for a draw. However, UBIDS found a late breakthrough as Nang-Ib Niber-yang Karl netted a dramatic winner in the closing stages to seal all three points.
The victory follows UBIDS’ Match Day 1 success over University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), where they triumphed 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Match Day 2 continues with more fixtures, including UMaT facing University of Ghana, Bolgatanga Technical University taking on University of Professional Studies Accra, and University of Energy and Natural Resources meeting University of Development Studies.
The tournament continues throughout the week, building up to its conclusion on Saturday, March 28.
