Mr. Christopher Galenkui, the Communications Officer of the Adaklu constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged the vetting committee for District Chief Executive-aspirants in the Volta region, to recommend a grassroots person who understands the people’s needs.

“Someone who has the interest and development of Adaklu at heart should be recommended for nomination by the President,” he stated. He said such a person should also be ready to work with the traditional authorities and other stakeholders for the development of the district.

Mr. Galenkui who is also the Assemblyman for the Adaklu Wumenu electoral area, made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on the sidelines of the vetting of the aspirants in Ho. Eight people have filed to contest the District Chief Executive (DCE) position and were being vetted by the Vetting Committee.

He continued that “at this crucial time that the district needs to be moved to another level we are looking forward to a selfless, transparent and an honest person to be at the helm of affairs of the district”. Mr. Galenkui was hopeful that the incoming DCE would not discriminate but help to share development projects that would come to the district evenly.

He said the person should also help to improve the collection of the internally generated funds of the district and also protected its leakage. The Communications Officer urged the people in the district to trust in the committee and the President to do a good work for them.
