    Goldstar Air supports Public-Private Partnership Forum as its Corporate Social Responsibility project

    Goldstar Air, a wholly owned Ghanaian airline, presented boxes of personal protective equipment (PPE) and T-shirts to the Ghana Tourism Authority, as a support for the Public Private Partnership forum, held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Fumesua Kumasi under the theme “Scaling up Public Private Partnership for Inclusive Tourism Growth” It is aimed at promoting investment into tourism and hospitality sector and bridging the skills gab in the industry.

    In donating the items, Mr. Eric Bannerman, Executive Chairman and CEO of Goldstar Air, and his team stated that they are excited for the continuous working relationship with the Ghana Tourism Authority and work together to be able to reach schools, churches, and other organizations to sell Ghana to them.

    He also hinted that, “things are being put in place to commence business soon”

    The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Mr. Akwasi  Agyeman upon receiving the items on behalf of GTA expressed his  appreciation and assured those present that GTA will do their best to work hand in hand with them towards the achievement of the set goals.

    Present at the gathering were the newly appointed chairman of the Board of Directors of GTA, Honorable Seth Adjei Baah, Chief Director, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and culture Mr. John Yao Agbeko and other Board Members, The Deputy CEO Operations, Mr. Ekow Sampson, Head of Corporate Affairs Mr. Jones Aruna Nelson, Deputy Head of Corporate Affairs Mr. Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi, Director, PPP Secretariate Mr. Isaac Asiam, and Administrative Officer Miss.Emily Naa Ashiokor Otoo.

    The public private partnership forum established under article 42 of the Tourism Act 2011 (Act 817) is to engage the private sector to discuss pertinent issues that impact the development of the tourism sector in Ghana.

    Goldstar Air involvement in the organisation was hailed as impressive as it will contribute to the growth of the Ghanaian economy by making international travel inexpensive and accessible, improve the lives of Ghanaians by providing employment opportunities and aviation-related

    training to Ghanaians, particularly the youth and will have seventy per cent local content of Ghanaian food, music, movies and announcements in Ghanaian dialects, as well as exporting labour through agency on call, charter and aircraft leasing.

    In a related Development, the company in collaboration with E-Station, a Chinese logistics international company presented a range of personal protective equipment to the Ghana Forestry Commission to boast their tourism activities, especially to enhance their fight against the ravaging menace of the pandemic. The items which consist of boxes of nose masks and face shields are also to help and

    promote the activities, operations and running of the Accra Zoo, as the airline is positioned to work with the Ghana Forestry Commission to ensure that the outside world would keep their gaze continually focused on Ghana by unearthing and harnessing the potentials of Ecotourism in the country.

    Mr Bannerman further stated “The gesture is to boast the morale of the officers to give off their best and stay out of harm’s way and it is also the airline’s corporate social responsibility to assist the management of the forestry commission as they handle their obligation in the face of the pandemic”.

    The items presented on behalf of both companies by Mr. John Ashong–Mettle of Goldstar Air and Jibiao YE of E-stations Logistics International Limited. Receiving the items, Dr. Richard Gyimah, Acting Director – Stakeholders and Ecotourism of the Ghana Forestry Commission. Dr Gyimah who was elated and full of praise for Goldstar Air, thanked the organization for the priceless gesture and challenged other corporate bodies to take a cue from Goldstar Air to make similar donations.
