The Child Eye Foundation-Ghana (CEF-Ghana), a non-governmental organization focused on supporting sustainable development goals, recently made a generous donation to the Methodist Rafiki Satellite Village, located in Winneba, Central Region. This village is a home for children.

Last Saturday, CEF-Ghana gave various items to the children, including school supplies, toiletries, food, drinks, and clothing. Philip Biney, who manages projects at CEF-Ghana, handed over these items to Rejoice Dei Forson, the caretaker of the home. Mr. Biney explained that this donation aims to motivate the children to stay in school and work towards a better future. He also mentioned that this was a follow-up to their previous visit in 2017, as they want to make a lasting difference in the lives of these children.

Ms. Dei expressed her gratitude to CEF-Ghana for their thoughtful donation, noting that these items would significantly improve the children’s living conditions. She also requested other organizations to help, especially in providing more computers for their ICT laboratory, which currently has only three.

Ampem Darko, an elder from the Apostolic Church-Ghana, also spoke to the children, encouraging them to stay focused and work hard to achieve their dreams.

Edward Hammond Adjinku, the founder of CEF-Ghana, praised the village for its progress and development. He encouraged the children, particularly those in secondary and tertiary education, to study diligently and excel in all areas of their lives.

A bit about the Methodist Rafiki Satellite Village: It was set up between 2006 and 2007 by the Methodist Church Ghana, led by Most Reverend Dr. Aboagye Mensah, who was the presiding Bishop at the time. The village started with six children and now has 79 children. It includes a school, an ICT lab, and a clinic with housing for doctors and nurses. The village is cared for by six mothers and a father, each looking after about 10 children in their own cottage.
