The Minister said these at the seventeenth congregation of the Dambai College of Education

The College graduated 239 students at its maiden congregation of the four-year Bachelor of Education programme, which fosters a remarkable landmark in the academic journey of its graduating students in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region.

The theme for the event was “The Education of the heart for a Sustainable National Development” and ” Innovative Education for a Sustainable future: Reflecting on Transformative learning and Development.”

Dr Adutwum said the introduction of the free Senior High School (SHS), the free Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), the construction of STEM Senior High Schools and retooling of some existing SHSs, demonstrate government’s commitment to strengthen the educational system and cultivate a sense of responsibility in the youth.

The Education Minister commended Dambai College of Education for their continued commitment to advancing education through innovation and transformative learning.

He emphasized that the research conference, which focuses on sustainable education demonstrated the College’s leadership in pushing the boundaries of knowledge and inspired future educators to embrace innovative teaching and learning methods that address the challenges of tomorrow.

Dr. Mrs. Benedicta Awusi Atiku, the Principal of the College, congratulated the 2023 batch of graduates, praising their exceptional commitment to their studies.

“You have emerged as capable, compassionate, innovative, confidence and learner-centric educators, ready to make a positive impact on Ghana’s education sector”.

Dr. Atiku emphasized the College’s pride in the graduands’ achievements, stating, “Your hard work, perseverance and dedication have paid off, you are now ambassadors of Dambai College, and we expect great things from you.”

She indicated that several programmes and projects have been initiated to improve upon teaching and learning on campus, and this included drilling of boreholes, converted all K.V.I P into water closet (WC) toilets.

She expressed gratitude to the government, Oti Regional Coordinating Council (ORCC), Krachi East Municipal Assembly (KEMA), and other stakeholders and individuals for their immense assistance to the institution and appealed for more.

Ms. Sophia Essel and Mr. Vincent Mireku, have poured out their hearts, expressing profound appreciation to Dr. Atiku, and tutors for their unwavering guidance and counseling throughout their academic journey.

“We are forever grateful to our principal and our tutors for their selfless dedication, patience and expertise, they helped us into capable educators, we again appreciate their tireless efforts in molding our minds,” she said.
