A 40-year-old man, Mr Stephen Omarikesie who needed an emergency surgery after swallowing an unknown substance, has received cash support of GHC10, 000 from the Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, Mrs Ernestina Ofori Dangbey.

Mr Omarikesie who suffered throat complications after swallowing the substance is currently on admission at the Swedru Government Hospital awaiting referral to undergo an emergency surgery at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

Mr Paul Appleh, Deputy Communications Officer of the Agona West Constituency of the NDC, who made the presentation on behalf of the MP, said Mrs Dangbey received information from the Constituency executives on Mr Omarikesie’s predicament and as the mother of all, she swiftly responded to help save his life.

Mr Appleh said the MP had pledged that she was ever ready to serve the people of Agona West who elected her to parliament and will offer support to demands that were within her means and call for assistance for the ones beyond her control.

Ms Mary Efua Amissah, mother of Mr Omarikesie, who received the cash thanked the MP for the kind gesture and expressed the hope that her son would successfully go through the surgery.
