The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has opened applications for the recruitment of 200 commission-based revenue collectors as part of efforts to strengthen revenue mobilisation and improve funding for essential city services.
The recruitment exercise, announced on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, forms part of a broader institutional strategy to tighten accountability in local revenue collection while expanding the Assembly’s human resource base to improve compliance across the metropolis.
Disclosing this, the Head of Public Affairs at the AMA, Gilbert Nii Ankrah, said applicants will be required to meet a bonding condition involving two guarantors.
He explained that one guarantor must be a salaried worker, while the other must be a well-known and respected opinion leader within the community.
According to Mr. Ankrah, the requirement is intended to ensure credibility, traceability and responsible conduct among revenue collectors who will be engaged on a commission basis.
“The Assembly is committed to strengthening revenue mobilisation in a transparent and accountable manner. That is why applicants must be bonded with two guarantors—one a salaried worker and another a respected opinion leader,” he said.
He further stressed that interested applicants must report to the AMA’s 24-hour economy office to obtain and complete the official application forms, noting that the office is the only designated point for the application process.
