A group by name, Concerned Youth of Ajumako-Bisease, in the Ajumako-Enyan- Essiam district of the Central Region are advocating for peace to facilitate development in their community.
At a press conference to express their concerns, the leader, Mr Kofi Mensah Abrompah, emphasised that it was time Ajumako-Bisease focused on development rather than conflicts, and appealed to all factions in the chieftaincy brawl to embrace peace.
Mr Abrompah abhorred the chieftaincy disputes hindering progress of the area, and urged the factions to work with Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, Member of Parliament for the Area who is also the finance minister, to complete various projects such as the Nursing Training College, Teacher Training College, and other road infrastructure.
The youth leader appealed to Dr Forson, Mr Kow Panyin Eduamoah, Central Regional Minister, the Central Regional representative on the Council of State, Mr Hakim Addei, the leadership of Central Regional House of Chiefs, and the National Peace Council to intervene in the chieftaincy disputes in the town.
Some of the residents expressed concern that if the disputes were not resolved promptly, they may have dire consequences on the area’s development.
