The Electoral Commission (EC) on Friday successfully mounted a constituency platform for candidates contesting the upcoming District Level Assembly by-elections in the Atebubu-Amantin constituency of the Bono East Region. The by-elections, to be held at the Amantin Dagarti-line Electoral Area followed the death of the late Moro Issah, the incumbent Assembly Member who died a month after he won the last DLEs in the area. The platform was conducted at Amantin and offered the opportunity for the two candidates to engage constituents on their manifestoes.
Mr Gabriel Jabaa, a motor mechanic and Mr Adams Seidu, a farmer, the two candidates shared their visions to prepare the minds of the electorate to empower them to make informed decisions, when they go to polls on Tuesday May 13, 2025. Both of them took turns to address the electorate and pledged their commitment to address the poor water and sanitation situation in the area.
They assured to use their connections to influence the Assembly, and other organisations to tackle the perennial and acute water crisis in the area. Earlier, Mr Kennedy Opoku, the Atebubu Amantin Municipal Director of the EC told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that the election would be held openly at three polling stations. They include Chokosi-line, Central Mosque lailai, and the Khairia Islamic Primary School.
He assured the commission’s commitment to facilitate a free, fair and transparent by-election to the satisfaction of the candidates and their respective following. Mr Opoku urged the candidates and their supporters to remain decorous in their campaigns for peaceful and successful by-elections and thanked them for their comportment.
