Dr. Kofi Osei Kusi, the Chancellor of GH Media School, urged the 2025 graduates to exhibit patriotism in every aspect of their work for the betterment of the country.

He said this would not only lead to their success in life but would also have a lasting positive impact on the nation for years to come. Dr. Kusi, speaking at the 18th graduation ceremony of the school over the weekend, lamented the declining level of patriotism among citizens, which he said had negatively affected the country’s development in recent years.

“Patriotism used to be a very important word in this country, but today we hardly hear about that word. If I ask you, you may not remember the last time you heard the word patriotism. Patriotism is the love for one’s country,” he said. Dr. Kusi stressed the importance of Ghanaians showing patriotism, noting that it was the only land they truly belong to. “You may get another nationality, but you will not originally come from any other place but from this country,” Dr Kusi stressed.

The graduation ceremony was held on the theme: “Foresight, Focus and Fulfillment: a Compass for Thriving Professionals.” Two hundred and Fifty students graduated from the five GH schools, including Media, Cosmetology, Fashion, Catering, and Technology. Among them, 37 graduated from Journalism and Media Studies, 25 from Journalism and Media Arts, 18 from Television and Film Production, 53 from Cosmetology, 50 from Fashion, 35 from Catering, and 8 from Technology.

Dr. Kusi urged the graduates to “go out there and add value to Ghana,” emphasizing that the country’s future success depended on them. Mr. Leslie Addo Listowell, Rector of GH Media School, encouraged the graduates to be different and warned them about the challenges ahead. He explained that in a world where technology, like artificial intelligence, was advancing rapidly, being visionary, innovative, and creative was key to success. “Be very visionary. Anything you see in your mind is achievable.

“Take risks, dare to do things differently and open up to change and be good in your risk management,” he emphasized. Madam Theresah Lardi Awuni, the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North and guest speaker, highlighted three key pillars—foresight, focus, and fulfillment—as crucial for individual success. She urged the graduates to embrace these pillars to achieve their goals.

“Foresight, focus, and fulfilment are more than just ideals. They are the tools required to turn dreams into reality,” she added. Madam Awuni also encouraged the graduates to “remember that the journey ahead would require perseverance.”

She urged them to use their talents not only to build successful careers but also to give back to their communities, contributing to the nation’s growth. She commended the school’s management for their ongoing commitment to nurturing minds and shaping future leaders for the country’s development.

GH Media School was established in 2014 by Mr. Leslie Addo-Listowell, originating from a parent company, “Media Tribe Studio 233,” a multimedia firm specializing in producing branded and non-branded content for TV stations nationwide.

The school initially offered two departments—Broadcast Journalism and Television and Film Production—but has since expanded to include four departments and additional schools: GH Cosmetology, GH Fashion, GH Catering, and GH Technology.
