Daniel Dowuona, who was charged with six counts of stealing, pleaded guilty to three of the six charges and not guilty to the rest.

The Court presided over by Mr Isaac Addo convicted the accused person on his own plea, but sentence was deferred.

It, therefore, remanded the accused person into Police custody to reappear on October 23, 2024.

Police Inspector W.B Kwafo, prosecuting, told the Court that the complainant, Mr Gabriel Adjei Mensah, a resident of Adabraka in Accra, was the IT Manager of Golden Pride Savings and Loans, while the accused person resided at Osu, Accra.

The prosecution said on April 24, 2024, around 0900 hours, the complainant was on his morning routine checks on the Company’s I.T systems when he detected that the mail server for the company was not responding to any queries.

It said the complainant later saw that the system had been tempered with the previous night.

“This prompted the complainant to replay the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Camera in the Server Room and the accused person was seen in the CCTV footage entering the Saver Room ‘23’ on separate occasions,” it added.

The prosecution said between February 2024 and April 2024 the accused person stole, Data Saver value GH₵50,000.00, 15 pieces of Computer Mother Board valued GH₵12,000.00, ’15’ Computer Power Supply GH₵6,000.00, One Lenovo Thinkpad Laptop value GH₵1,900.00, one Dell Laptop Computer value GH₵1,200.00 and three Terabytes External Hard Drive value GH₵700.00 totalling GH₵71,800.00.

It said the complainant reported the case to the Police and the accused person, who had gone into hiding, was arrested from his hide out on September 27, 2024.
