Manchester City continue their fine form in the Premier League as they thrash champions, Liverpool 1-4 at Anfield.
The fixture was the most talked about across Europe’s top five leagues and produced a five goal thriller in the second half.
City looked like taking the lead in the first half from the spot after Fabinho fouled Sterling in the penalty box but failed to capitalized as Gundogan blasted over the bar from 12 yards.
The game came alive in the second half as Gundogan made up for his first half error from a rebound from Alisson in the box.
Mo Salah levelled things up for the reds from the spot after he was denied a goal scoring opportunity by Ruben Dias just after the hour mark.
Liverpool looked to build momentum after the equalizer but two unforced errors from Brazillian goalkeeper Alisson in the space of four minutes allowed Gundogan (73) and Raheem Sterling (76) to dramatically haul the contest and seemingly the Premier League crown – back in City’s favour.
Phil Foden then capped an impressive display with a late fourth (83) as Pep Guardiola’s side extended their lead to the top of the table.
City, on a 14-game winning streak, are now 10 points ahead of Liverpool and five clear of city rivals Manchester United, with a game in hand on both sides, while Liverpool have lost three league games in a row at home for the first time since 1963.
