    Food vendors in Sunyani happy about establishment of Women Bank

    Food vendors in the Sunyani Municipality have welcomed the establishment of the Women’s Bank, and commended President John Dramani Mahama for the economic policy.

    Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minister of Finance announced a seed capital of GHC53.1 million earmarked for the establishment of the Women’s Bank when he presented the 2025 Budget Statement to Parliament on Tuesday.

    In a post-budget interview, the food vendors told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the establishment of the bank was a bold and laudable decision the President had taken considering the unfavourable economic condition of the country now.

    Madam Beatrice Agyeiwaa, a fried yam seller at the Sunyani Zongo praised the praised President Mahama, saying bank would create opportunities for them to access loans for the growth of their businesses.

    However, she said he was optimistic that all traders and businesswomen would access the bank, irrespective of their political colours and economic backgrounds.

    Another food vendor, Mad Mary Amoakowaa, a kenkey seller at the Sunyani Night Market prayed that accessing the bank would not be difficult for petty traders like her.
