It will focus on the challenges and opportunities that the African Cinema space offers. The summit will be unique as it is the first of its class to be held in Africa.

The first edition of the summit which took place last year, drew various film-makers from 20 African countries to Ghana for varied conversations on growing cinema on the continent.

This year’s edition aims to further consolidate the progress made in the African cinema industry, fostering collaboration, innovation and sustainable growth.

The 2024 summit will focus on the growth in quality of local content production and consumption driving the case for increased cinema investment.

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, the organisers of the African Cinema Summit, the National Film Authority (NFA), visited the King to officially invite him to the event.

King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II who is a lover of the arts and a former player in the creative industry, in his acceptance speech, acknowledged the role of film in culture preservation and the need to encourage the production of films that tell the Ghanaian story.

The Ga Mantse pledged his support to the cause being championed by the National Film Authority. He will be among the distinguished guests attending this year’s summit.
