The Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) has announced December 27, 2025, as the date for its executive elections following a meeting held last month at the Charles Quartey Boxing Club in Accra.

The meeting also reviewed Ghana’s preparations for two major international events: the International Boxing Association (IBA) World Championships in Abu Dhabi, slated for November 30 to December 10, and the Youth Olympic qualifiers in Angola scheduled for December 12–20, 2025.

GBF President Bernard Quartey assured executives that the federation was working to resolve registration challenges for the IBA Championships after submitting all required documents to the global body. He expressed optimism that the approval process would be completed soon.

Ghana has confirmed four boxers for the Youth Olympic qualifying tournament:

    • William Laryea

    • Rahman Ablorh

    • Margaret Oyo Quartey

    • Richardson Ofori

As part of broader preparations toward the 2026 Commonwealth Games, the federation agreed to organise a Ghana–Nigeria bilateral competition in March 2026. It also announced plans to hold a national boxing championship from January 7–10, 2026.

Although the election date has been fixed, the GBF noted that key details—including the delegates list, filing fees, venue and budget—will be communicated in due course.
