Ghanaian songstress Gyakie has finally delivered her long-awaited debut album, a 17-track project titled AFTER MIDNIGHT, now available on all streaming platforms. The album sees Gyakie experimenting with a range of sounds while staying rooted in her signature soothing vocals, storytelling, and rich Ghanaian influences.

The project opens with Track 1: Introduction, which sets the tone with the cultural rhythm of Adowa drums, before Gyakie’s mellow voice announces her arrival with the words “We’re here.” The record, produced by Altra Nova, immediately ushers listeners into her world.

On Track 2: Fire On The Mountain, produced by M.O.G Beatz, Gyakie reflects on the sweetness of true love, singing “Odo Bi Yɛ Dɛ.”

Track 3: Damn U featuring 6lack dives deeper into heartbreak, where Gyakie expresses her willingness to sacrifice for love, only to be betrayed. The emotional ballad is produced by P. Priime.

A definite standout is Track 4: Harmattan featuring dancehall king Shatta Wale. Their chemistry is undeniable, delivering a powerful collaboration co-produced by Sosawavegod and Gyakie herself.

Track 5: y2k luv featuring Omar Sterling is a dream-come-true collaboration, as Gyakie has long admired the R2Bees rapper since the onset of her career. Produced by Altra Nova, the track blends nostalgia with heartfelt admiration.

Fans were already familiar with Track 6: Sankofa (produced by Afrolektra), which was released earlier as a teaser to the album. It quickly became a fan favorite, further building anticipation.

The album also features personal interludes such as Track 7: AFTER MIDNIGHT, produced by Babawvd, where Gyakie confesses her love intimately.

On Track 8: I’m Not Taken featuring Headie One, she boldly states her availability, waiting for love to find her.

Gyakie also touches on themes of self-love with Track 9: No One (produced by Deeyaso), and on Track 10: Breaking News, she playfully narrates the shockwaves her new love story would cause if revealed.

The energy rises with Track 11: House Party featuring Young Jonn, while Track 12: Unconditional reminds listeners that love doesn’t come with a price tag — a message delivered beautifully over Afrolektra’s production.

The storytelling continues with Track 13: Story and Track 14: Want It, both produced by Baggins, before linking up with Kojey Radical on Track 15: Party Galore, an Afro-fusion record laced by Soji.

Philosophical reflections appear on Track 16: Is It Worth It, where Gyakie asks the chilling question: “Do you believe in the afterlife from here?” The theme then flips to pure inspiration on Track 17: Hallelujah, where Gyakie motivates fans by reminding them that if she could rise, so can they.

With AFTER MIDNIGHT, Gyakie has proven her artistry and versatility across 17 tracks, offering a little something for every listener — from love ballads and Afrobeat bangers to reflective interludes and inspirational records.

The album is a true representation of her growth and artistry, cementing her position as one of Ghana’s finest musical exports.

AFTER MIDNIGHT is available now on all streaming platforms.
