By the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, a high-level meeting was held on Monday at the Royal Office, chaired by His Majesty’s Advisors — Taib Fassi Fihri, Omar Azziman, and Fouad Ali El Himma.
The meeting brought together leaders of political parties represented in both Houses of Parliament, alongside the Minister of the Interior and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates.
In line with the Royal Decision announced in the King’s October 31 address, following the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2797, discussions focused on updating and refining the autonomy initiative within the framework of Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The consultation demonstrated His Majesty’s continued commitment to participatory governance and inclusive national dialogue on strategic national issues. His Advisors conveyed the King’s wish for political leaders to actively contribute ideas toward strengthening the autonomy proposal.
Party leaders welcomed the Royal Initiative, commending the positive momentum surrounding the Moroccan Sahara question and applauding His Majesty’s inclusive approach to shaping a unified national vision.
They reaffirmed their full support for the King’s leadership and efforts to safeguard Morocco’s sovereignty and the Moroccanness of the Sahara, emphasizing that the latest UN resolution further validates the autonomy initiative as a credible, realistic, and lasting solution.
In response to His Majesty’s call, the heads of political parties pledged to submit detailed memoranda outlining their proposals and perspectives on the autonomy initiative to the King in the coming days.
