MTN Ghana, proud sponsor of the Black Queens and key supporter of all national football teams, has applauded Ghana’s senior women’s team for their impressive qualification to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

In a statement, MTN Ghana’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Stephen Blewett, commended the Queens’ emphatic 7–0 victory over Egypt’s Cleopatra, describing it as a clear reflection of their dedication, teamwork, and determination.

“Your remarkable win is a powerful statement of intent and excellence. You have made Ghana proud, and we celebrate this milestone with you,” he said.

Mr. Blewett encouraged the team to maintain focus and intensify their preparations ahead of the continental tournament, emphasizing that success in Morocco will demand even greater effort and discipline.

He reaffirmed MTN’s commitment to supporting women’s football and likened the team’s spirit to MTN’s “Can-Do Spirit” — representing resilience, confidence, and excellence.

“At MTN, we believe in the Can-Do Spirit — the same spirit that drives the Black Queens to greatness. We have full confidence that they will shine at WAFCON 2026,” he added.

The Black Queens’ qualification marks a strong comeback and renews optimism about Ghana’s return to prominence in African women’s football.
