Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the Running Mate to the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has touted the NDC as the only party that cares about the progress and welfare of women.

“Our party is one that respects women, cares about their welfare, and includes them in the decision-making process at all levels, that is why I am where I am today,” she said.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang said this when she engaged some market women in Takoradi as part of her three-day campaign tour of the Western Region.

She said the next NDC administration would prioritise strategic interventions to ensure the growth of women-led businesses to contribute to addressing unemployment in the country.

“I am a testament to the NDC’s commitment to the well-being of women, so I implore you all to vote for us on December 7 so that we can bring the development we all desire as a people,” she said.

She touched on the party’s 24-hour economy policy, and said it would help boost productivity, enhance efficiency and create more employment for the teeming youth.

Prof Opoku-Agyemang asked the party faithful to preach the NDC’s policies to the electorate to persuade them to vote for Former President John Dramani Mahama, the Flagbearer, and the parliamentary candidates in the region.

Nana Kojo Toku, the Western Regional NDC Chairman, called for unity among the rank and file of the party and forge a common goal towards winning the 2024 elections.

The NDC’s Running Mate started her campaign on Tuesday, September 3, when she visited Tarkwa Nsuaem, Ahanta West, and Mpohor constituencies to engage market women, chiefs and other key stakeholders.

On the second day, Prof Opoku-Agyemang and her team visited Shama, Essikado-Ketan and Sekondi.

She ended her tour of the region in Takoradi, Effia and Kwesimintsim where she held a durbar at Apremdo.
