Mr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, Chief Executive Officer of Special Ice Limited, has been honoured as the Chamber Businessman of the Year at the 5th Chamber Business Awards held in Accra.

Other top honourees included Nana Krobea Asante, CEO of Azmera Restaurant, who was named Chamber Businesswoman of the Year, and Mr. Abraham Eghan of Hallmark Café, awarded Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

Additional award recipients were George Wiafe (Media Personality of the Year), Zonda Tech Ghana Limited (Automobile-Dealership Company of the Year), Pharmanova Limited (Pharmaceutical Company of the Year), Goil Ghana Limited (Oil and Gas Company of the Year), and Kasapreko Company Limited (Export Company of the Year).

Addressing the gathering, GNCCI President Mr. Stephen Miezan commended the awardees for their vision, resilience, and integrity, which he said continue to shape Ghana’s economic narrative.

“The event is not only to applaud achievements but to reaffirm our belief in the private sector’s power to drive national transformation,” he stated.

Mr. Miezan reiterated the Chamber’s mandate under L.I. 611 of 1968 (Act 232) to protect and promote the interests of Ghana’s private sector, ensuring competitiveness, ethical conduct, and sustainable growth.

He called for deeper collaboration between government and industry, emphasising that real support must reflect in budgets, credit flows, infrastructure delivery, and protection of local businesses.

“We welcome government’s renewed commitment to industrial revitalisation, infrastructure financing, and value-chain development,” he added.
