Surfline Communications, Ghana’s leading 4G LTE internet service announced yesterday, the availability of Wi-Fi services on Bolt ride hailing service in Ghana. Bolt users will experience Surfline’s full 4G LTE internet service when they board a connected vehicle.

Surfline and Bolt’s partnership enables drivers on Bolt an efficient connectivity, while providing riders with free internet on their commute. This is powered by Surfline’s new device called the ‘Car Fi’, an industry first that takes mobility to another level in Ghana.

“Integrated mobility service providers provide a more seamless customer experience, but this experience is incomplete without a great internet service. This is why Surfline, Ghana’s leading 4G LTE provider is partnering to provide its internet service for commuters to enjoy from this June.” said Mr. David Afugani, Head of Commercial Business at Surfline Communications. ‘We are committed to building a high quality, seamless end user experience via these mobility partners and working even harder to expand our network to other parts of the country’, he added.

According to the products and acquisitions manager Mr.Joseph Mallet, the phenomenon of ride hailing like that of Bolt is here to stay and it is Surfline’s intention to connect people and businesses with Ghana’s leading and only true 4G LTE.

“Our mission is to provide safe, affordable and reliable rides and we wanted to bridge the gap between bad network experience on the driver side, and improving customer experience on Bolt rides by offering them free wifi in vehicles.” said Nonso Onwuzulike, Bolt Country Manager, Ghana.

Bolt has already started distributing the Car Fi devices to the drivers and plans to reach more than 1500 vehicles by the end of the year.

Additionally, there is a special Bolt package for drivers which gives unlimited internet for only 50GHS a month. Drivers can also outrightly purchase the device directly from Surfline at subsidized rate, and get access to the Bolt data package.
