TikTok has announced that it is in the process of restoring its services in collaboration with its service providers.

The company expressed gratitude to former U.S. President Donald Trump for offering clarity and assurances to its service providers, ensuring they would face no penalties for supporting TikTok operations in the United States.

The platform, which boasts over 170 million users in the U.S., emphasized the importance of its availability for small businesses, stating that more than seven million small enterprises rely on TikTok to thrive.

In a public statement, TikTok described the development as “a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship.” The company reaffirmed its commitment to working with President Trump on a sustainable, long-term solution that guarantees TikTok’s continued presence in the United States.

This move comes amidst previous uncertainties regarding TikTok’s operations in the country, making the announcement a significant step toward stability for both the platform and its vast user base.

Earlier, TikTok went offline in the US, hours before a new law banning the platform was due to come into effect.

A message appearing on the app for US users said a law banning TikTok had been enacted, meaning “you can’t use TikTok for now”.
