Kojo Yankah’s massive Pan African Heritage World Museum (PAHWM) is rapidly approaching on a 10-acre plot of ground one kilometer off the Winneba-Mankessim route.  Despite the fact that it is not scheduled to be released until February 2023, it is already receiving global attention.

In a write up headlined Accra, Ghana: A hub for creativity and culture time.com mentioned the estimated US$50 million museum as one of the world’s top 100 greatest places and a major destination tourists can look forward to in Ghana next year.

The portal wrote “…next year, the Pan African Heritage World Museum is scheduled to open. It will house archives, exhibits, galleries and a theater, with the aim of being a key destination for visitors interested in connecting with Africa’s history and its people’s heritage.”

This will be the second time the Pan African Heritage World (PAHW) Museum would gain international recognition even ahead of its launch. The first was last year, when it was admitted to membership of the Association of African American Museums (AAAM) based in Washington, DC, USA.

PAHW Museum founder and executive director, Kojo Yankah, said the Museum was admitted after he presented its vision, mission statement and programs to the management of AAAM.

For one, PAHW Museum will run both a physical and digital museum for the first time in Ghana.

Executive Director of AAAM, Vedet Coleman-Robinson welcoming PAHW Museum then, said it was part of the Association’s mission to “support African and African-American museums nationally and internationally to preserve and interpret African American art, history and culture.”

Membership benefits include “TripAdvisor partnership access, information about grants and funding opportunities, networking and training opportunities, eligibility to present at annual AAAM conferences, voting and nominating privileges to select AAAM Board Members, and access to webinars and audio recordings”.

According to the Founder of PAHW Museum, more partnerships will be announced in due course.

PAHWM will house an illustrious African museum that captures the history of Africa from the pre-slave trade era all the way to the contemporary era, including the achievements of Africans both at home and in the Diaspora.

It will also house a massive Dome for major international events, a 1000-seater 24/7 operational theater, a film studio, shopping mall, accommodation facilities, a herbal farm of over 10,000 African herbs, a technology hub, and many more.

The museum has already received some very valuable donations, including over 150,000 pieces of pictures and relics from one of the world’s most travel individual.

    Digital museum

Already, the Digital version of the museum is under construction and will be completed for viewing on PAHWM website on May 5, 2022.

Funding for the Museum complex is mainly through donations. A Membership drive for funding has been launched on the organization’s website www.pahmuseum.org.

When completed, the Pan African Heritage World Museum is envisioned to be one of the biggest tourist destinations on the continent of Africa.
