    6th August tragedy Children’s Support Fund accrues GHC 2.3 million

    The Sixth August Tragedy Children’s Fund launched by President John Dramani Mahama on August 15, 2025, has accrued GHS 2.3 million.

    A statement issued by Dr Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs, and Coordinator of the Fund, said the establishment of a Children’s Support Fund was to guarantee the welfare of the children of the victims of the August 6 helicopter crash.

    It said the Government expresses its gratitude to Stanbic Bank Ghana for an initial seed donation of GHS 500,000.00.

    it also expressed gratitude companies for their contributions to the Fund, namely Procus GH Limited, GB Foods Ghana, Sunda FM Manufacturing Ltd and Sage Distribution Ltd.

    The rest are Quantum Oil Terminals, Quantum LPG Logistics Ltd, Newgas Cylinder Limited and Quantum Terminals PLC.

    The statement said donations might be made to the Fund via the following Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited accounts (Stanbic Heights Branch, Accra): Ghana Cedi (GHS) Account: 9040013628372 and US Dollar (USD) Account: 9040013628534.

    It said cheques and bank drafts should be made payable to: CHILDREN SUPPORT FUND 6825.

    The statement said a list of donors would be published weekly.
