Nana Mpra Besemuna III, the Paramount Chief of Krachi traditional area in the Oti Region, has appealed to the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, to construct a bridge over River Oti, if the Party wins the December elections.

He said the construction of the bridge would make traveling easier, enhance socio-economic activities and also impact positively on local economy.

Nana Besemuna, who was speaking in Kete-Krachi during Mr Mahama’s campaign tour to the region, expressed concern about the frequent breakdown of the ferry on River Oti, leaving thousands of travelers and commuters stranded.

The Chief told Mr Mahama that, “it is so worrying and pathetic to see the ferry breakdown frequently, delaying crossing, commercial activities, and causing losses to businesses in the area and beyond.”

The Paramount Chief added that the essence of governance to the rural folks was to improve socio-economic life.

Mr. Mahama, on his part, assured the chief and the people of the region that his administration would not disappoint them when voted into power come December 7.
