Two hundred and eleven ( 211) out of 233 registered special voters in the Keta constituency of the Volta Region have voted during the special voting held at the forecourt of Keta Municipal Assembly on Monday, representing a turn-out of 93 per cent.

Mr Roger Avorgbedor, the Presiding Officer at Keta, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that 22 registered special voters could not partake in the exercise.

He said that the total number of the voter turn-out of 211 comprised of 140 males and 71 females.

He said the exercise was smooth and successful devoid of any challenges or hitches that could either slow or halt the voting processes.

Mr Emmanuel Tey, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Keta Constituency Secretary, who was the agent during the voting, expressed satisfaction about the exercise and thanked all voters for demonstrating their civic duties.

“The exercise was excellent, and we are expecting the same mood during the general voting on Saturday, December 7, and am very sure Ghanaians will vote massively for John Dramani Mahama as the next president.”

Mr Godson Wotordzor, Keta New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth organiser, applauded the Electoral Commission for organising a smooth and successful special voting exercise.

He said Ghanaians needed continuity of development and NPP was the only party that could create projects to improve lives of Ghanaians.

Other political party agents, including Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) and others, were satisfied with the exercise and urged all to support their various parties for victory.

Some voters, who participated in the special voting exercise, were happy about the exercise and expressed the hope for a better atmosphere during the general elections.
