Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, Finance Minister, has assured President John Dramani Mahama that he and his colleagues will work hard to make him the best President of the Fourth Republic.
“We want to assure you that we will serve in such a way to make you the best President in the Fourth Republic,” Dr Forson stated in his appreciation to the President after their swearing-in as Ministers of State at the Flagstaff House in Accra. “We want to assure you that whilst we start work today, we will begin the process to reset the country, together with you and your team. “We thank you so much for the honor done us, and we will not let you down.”
Dr Forson on the behalf of his colleagues expressed gratitude to the President for the honor done to them, in nominating them to represent him as Ministers of State. “Mr President, we have been with you throughout your days in opposition. We have witnessed the misgovernance and misrule of the previous administration. We’ve learned, indeed, that Ghanaians will not tolerate such misgovernance any longer,” he said.
He reiterated that they had taken a cue from what the President told them. He said they were also aware of the state of the Ghanaian economy, the state of nation’s energy sector, the state of the justice system, the agriculture sector, and indeed, the education sector. The first batch of six Ministers sworn in by the President, who took the oaths of allegiance, office and secrecy include Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, Finance Minister, Mr John Abu Jinapor, Minister of Energy and Green Transition, and Dr Dominic Akurutinga Ayine, Attorney General and Minister of Justice.
The rest are Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Education, Mr Eric Opoku, Minister of Food and Agriculture and Mr. Kwame Agbodza, Minister of Roads and Highways. At the event were Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Chairman, National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Mr. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, General Secretary, NDC.
