Traders engaged in the sale of Valentine’s Day souvenirs in the Bono Regional Capital on Friday expressed satisfaction about patronage of gifts and souvenirs in the season.
Comparatively, they told Ghana News Agency (GNA) market survey in Sunyani that sales had so far been “encouraging and exciting,” since morning, saying patronage for the souvenirs was poor in the last season.
During the visit around 1400 hours, the GNA noticed brisk buying and selling at the various shops operating around the buildings of the Ghana Cocoa Board and the Ghana Commercial Bank in the capital.
The traders mostly sell gifts and souvenirs ranging from teddy bears, love cards, flowers, red panties, chocolates, and other gifts.
Madam Jocelyn Baffour, one of the traders said her daily sales had increased in the season, hoping that more customers would buy her items in the evening, saying the demand for red panties was very high among young men.
Another trader, Samuel Gyamfi told the GNA that many of her customers who were mostly young women patronised chocolate and flowers.
For Madam Regina Dapaah, one of the customers chanced on at a shop, the euphoria that had characterised the Val’s Day remained poor in the season, however added that “we will still celebrate the Day”.
