For Amerado, becoming is not simply about reaching a destination but the experiences that come with the journey, including difficult decisions, setbacks, pressure, victories and personal sacrifices that often go unnoticed.

The EP opens with the title track, “The Price of Becoming (Mpaebor)”, produced by IzJoe Beatz. The song introduces the central theme of the project and offers listeners insight into the mindset behind the body of work.

The project then moves through a blend of Highlife and Afrobeats, featuring songs such as “Sika Mframa,” “Chacha,” “Obiaa Nte Mase,” “Fountain” featuring Nigerian artiste Skales, and “Keteke.”

These songs highlight Amerado’s versatility and his ability to combine contemporary sounds with Ghanaian musical traditions that continue to influence his artistry.

The EP also explores different sides of Amerado’s musical identity.

“Return Of The Lunatic 2,” produced by ItzCJ Madeit, is a rap-focused record that showcases his lyrical ability and reinforces his reputation as one of Ghana’s notable rappers.

The project concludes with “Pharaoh Remix,” featuring Epixode and Ras Kuuku and produced by Shawerz Ebiem. The reggae track adds another dimension to the project while connecting it to Ghana’s reggae and dancehall tradition.

Production on the EP comes from respected Ghanaian producers, including IzJoe Beatz, MOG Beatz, ItzCJ Madeit and Shawerz Ebiem.

With its combination of Highlife, Afrobeats, reggae and rap, The Price of Becoming presents different dimensions of Amerado’s artistry while maintaining his core musical identity.

The collaboration with Skales on “Fountain” also gives the project a cross-border dimension, while the participation of Epixode and Ras Kuuku on “Pharaoh Remix” further strengthens its connection to Ghana’s reggae and dancehall scene.

At its heart, The Price of Becoming is a reflection of Amerado’s evolution as an artiste. The project looks at both the road he has travelled and the person he continues to become, acknowledging that growth often comes with sacrifices and that every stage of the journey leaves something behind.

Through the EP, Amerado invites listeners not only to enjoy the music but also to understand the experiences and sacrifices that made the music possible.
