Due to unresolved employment and legal issues, the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP) has announced that all employees will be temporarily suspended.

The CEO of NEIP instructed the HR Officer to notify employees in a formal memo dated February 21, 2025, that after thorough investigations, management has concluded that the intricacy and legal ramifications of specific employment issues preclude the use of operating funds for monthly staff allowances.

The memo went on to say that in order to avoid more legal issues, management has been told to strictly follow due process when regularizing staff employment.

Due to these difficulties, all workers have been instructed to refrain from reporting for duty beginning Monday, February 24, 2025, until these problems are completely fixed.

However, the memo clarified that management may call upon specific staff whose services are required to resume work once the matters have been adequately addressed.

In addition to the suspension, all staff members in possession of any property belonging to NEIP have been instructed to return them to the HR Officer on or before the close of work on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

“Failure to comply with this directive, the memo warns, will be considered as deliberate theft of such item(s),” the memo stated.

NEIP, a government initiative under the Office of the President, is responsible for promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in Ghana.

The suspension is expected to have implications for ongoing projects and operations.
