Mr Vincent Antwi Agyei, the President’s Nominee for the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive, has called for a formidable front with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the constituency.

Besides development, he said a deepened unity within the rank and file of the party would enable them to work hard for the NDC to maintain the Sunyani East constituency parliamentary seat in the Election 2028.

Interacting with some Sunyani East NDC constituency executives and supporters, Mr Agyei said the party could not afford losing the parliamentary seat in the next general election, rallying their support to bring the development of the municipality to the next level.

He said that remained the surest way the electorates would maintain their confidence in the NDC and vote to retain the government and the Member of Parliament (MP), Mr Seid Mubarak in political power.

Mr Agyei said his nomination “is a nomination for all,” and expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the President, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, and the National Chair, the constituency executive and supporters and members of the NDC for his nomination.

He also congratulated all the party members who submitted their names for the MCE positions, calling for their support, cooperation, and rich experiences in politics and in social life in tackling the development needs of the constituency.

Mr Antwi said he acknowledged and recognised the contributions of every member and supporter of the NDC which led the party to win the Election 2024, urging them to remain resolute and loyal to the party. Meanwhile, some members of the NDC, political actors and social media commentators had welcomed the nomination of Mr Agyei, describing him as a unifier.

In an interview with the GNA, some of the NDC supporters in the constituency said they were highly optimistic that the President nominee would maintain his sense of humility and work in diligence for the purpose of development.
