    CGIA holds training for business and finance journalists

    The Chartered Global Investment Analysts Institute and the CGIA Network Ghana on Saturday, February 20, 2021, held a one-day workshop in Accra to train journalists in business and financial.

    The workshop dubbed the “Business and Financial Journalists Workshop” was held at the Erata Hotel in East Legon.

    Facilitating the training, vice-chair at CGIA Network Ghana, Mr. Isaac Charles Acquah emphasized on the need for journalists to be abreast with current business trends especially now that there is paradigm shift in the digital space.

    According to him, the digital economy is taking over the traditional economy at a rather fast rate and there is the need for everyone in any part of the world to keep up in order not to be left behind.
    Chairman for communication and advocacy at CGIA, Mr. Ebenezer Asumang challenged business and financial journalists to cultivate the habit of research and making it a point to contact experts at CGIA when chasing a business story.

    He said, “Whether we like it or not the digitization is happening. There is no way it will go back so we must tune ourselves and go alongside it.

    At the training, Global Council Member for the Chartered Global Investment Analysts Institute, Sandeep Kumar joined via Zoom from India while President of the CGIA Network, Mr. Enoch S.K.O Wontumi was in attendance to reiterate the readiness of Institute to assist the media to transform the business and finance sector.

    The CGIA Network Ghana is one of many global networks of the CGIA Institute which was approved in 2018.

    As a member network of the CGIA Institute, the institute is committed to inspiring and promoting the highest ethical standards in the finance and investment landscape in Ghana.

    By fully leveraging their diverse experiences, backgrounds, and insights, they inspire  to challenge the status quo to create better outcomes by coming together.
