    Ahanta Chiefs grateful to John Mahama for appointing Joseph Nelson as Minister

    A section of Ahanta Chiefs have expressed appreciation to the John Dramani Mahama administration for the appointment of Joseph Nelson as the Minister for the Western Region.

    The Chiefs led by Nana Kwasi Agyeman IX, the Paramount Chief of Lower Dixcove said the appointment of Mr. Nelson was tantamount to solving many of the infrastructure and development challenges in the Western Region.

    “Joseph Nelson is our own, born and bred in the Western Region and so, he can relate with our problems and challenges, and he will do his best to advance development “, the Chiefs added during a press conference on Monday in Takoradi.

    Nana Agyeman IX described Mr. Nelson as respectful and disciplined and urged him not to relinquish these virtues as he heads the Region.

    He said the people of Ahanta were so proud and happy for the recognition done the Region and assured the President that with the cooperation of the chiefs and the people, the new Minister would deliver massive infrastructure and social interventions projects to uplift the lifestyle of the people.

    Mr. Nelson served as the Municipal NDC executive of the Ahanta land before working as the Regional Secretary of the party.
