Art and Cocktail organises, “The Couple’s Paint Nite Event”

Last weekend, Arts and Cocktail in collaboration with Delish Restaurant hosted a couple’s paint nite event that was geared towards helping couples revive the bond in their relationship and connect with each other as the coronavirus pandemic has made some relationships suffer greatly.

The event which was the company’s third paint nite event was patronised by couples who seeked to connect again with their loved ones. For many, it was the first time seeing their loved ones since the lockdown ban was lifted in Ghana.

Per the artist’s direction, the couples worked on a landscape theme. The ladies painted the sunset part  while the gentlemen painted the moonlight part which formed a landscape when linked together by each couple.

Organisers of the event ensured that the coronavirus prevention protocols outlined by the government were fully adhered to. All participants of the event had on their face masks and also used hand sanitizers regularly while ensuring social distance between other painters.

Speaking to myghanadaily after the event, Ms. Chantelle Kuukua Eghan, the founder of Arts and Cocktail expressed delight at the attendance and how well the couples painted even though none of them had an experience in painting.

“The attendance we see for this event is double of what we had at our previous event and considering the whole coronavirus fear I am really honoured these people came out to join the event. You know for paint nite, you don’t need to have an experience in painting, anyone can paint and I am glad my guests did marvelously well”

Sharing her experience as an lady in the painting industry, Ms. Eghan expressed that she goes through the same challenges a male artist will go through and being female does not favour her in any way.

“It doesn’t matter whether you are a male or a female, at the end of the day, it’s your art that speaks for you. Whatever challenges I face will be the same a male artist will face”

Considering the future of Arts and Cocktail, Ms. Eghan shared that the goal is for her to establish an events center dedicated solely to arts, where people come in to paint for fun and also extend Paint Nite to about 10 to 15 restaurants

She further expressed her gratitude to Delish Restaurant, especially the owner Mr. Yaw Sakyi Afari for giving Arts and Cocktail the platform and opportunity to begin it’s business journey.
