Unemployed youth in the Bono Region have been assured of enrolment in its employable skill training modules to help them build and have a secured future

Mr Mustapha Omar Copson, the newly appointed Bono Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA said he would ensure that the unemployed youth benefit from the Agency’s employable skill training and other programmes under President John Dramani Mahama government.

He said the Agency in the region was determined to ensure that many of the youth in the region were enrolled in its employable skill training modules to build and have a secured future.

That would provide them with decent jobs and to empower the youth in the region to contribute significantly to national development too. The YEA was established under the Youth Employment Act 2015 (Act 887) to empower young people to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic and sustainable development of the nation.

Its objective is to support the youth between the ages of 15 to 35 years through skills training and internship modules to transit from a situation of unemployment to that of employment. In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, Mr Copson, also the Deputy Bono Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for his appointment.

“I really understand and very sensitive to the plight of the youth in the Bono Region and will therefore push hard to ensure that many of the youth in the region get something decent to do to build their lives.”, stated.
As the chunk of the nation’s population, Mr Copson said denying the youth employment opportunities was to create problems for the nation, saying that “is why President Mahama has come to reset the nation for the youth to get jobs to do”.

He therefore urged the youth in the region to remain calm, and to maintain their confidence in President Mahama, saying, “our reset agenda is on course and will make a significant impact on the socio-economic livelihoods of Ghanaians, and the youth in particular”.
