Some churches in Kweikuma and Sekondi, in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region, have observed a special Good Friday church service to commemorate the work of Christ on the cross to restore hope and salvation to mankind all over the world.

Good Friday, a special day to precede resurrection Sunday is observed by believers across the globe to remember the preparation of Jesus to die on the cross for the redemption and reconciliation of mankind unto God.At the Assemblies of God, Glory and Power Centre at Kweikuma, Pastor Enoch Obeng-Quainoo, an Associate Pastor of the Church, during his sermon said there was the need for Christians to keep remembering the death and resurrection of Christ as it served as the sole foundation of Christianity.

Speaking on the theme: “The Supreme Work of Christ,” quoting from 1Thessalonians 5:9-10, he urged believers to observe Easter in a manner that would reconnect them back to their first love.He noted that Easter was all about salvation and reconciliation back to God and encouraged all to stay humble as God was ever ready to restore them back to their former glory. At the Sekondi Area Church of Pentecost, Pastor Emmanuel Kwesi Dare, the Sekondi Area Church Secretary, urged all Christians to make it a point to impact lives while they celebrated the festive season.

Preaching on the theme: “Behold the Lamb of God” with scripture text from John 1:29, he encouraged believers to hold tight their first love as He left His glory to die for the salvation of the world.

Other believers present called on the Christian community to make known the good news of Christ as the season was all about Christ and His unconditional love and sacrifice.
