Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or analytic field with eight years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required.
  • Proficiency in database systems, including SQL and data modeling, structured and unstructured.
  • Experience in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, Unix environments, R, and Stata.
  • Advanced knowledge of analytical tools, statistical techniques, and machine learning.
  • Strong project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and provide guidance to junior researchers.
  • Interest in economics and finance is necessary; background knowledge or training in these fields is preferred.

Description: As a Data Scientist at GCAP, you will be responsible for managing internal lab data and code pipelines, developing applications and analytical insights, and leading efforts to analyze and visualize key data insights. Working closely with researchers, you will contribute to the production of public-facing estimates and policy-related analyses, ensuring the integrity and quality of research outputs. You will also play a crucial role in training junior researchers and maintaining Big Data systems and data-intensive solutions. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on interdisciplinary projects and collaborate with leading institutions across the globe.
