Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats artist, Kidi,  has apologized to Ghanaians who felt offended  by his statement;  Ghanaians are not obligated to purchase tickets to his “Live With KiDi” performance if they do not have the financial means to do so.

His statement comes after he received a lot of backlash over the table rates for his forthcoming “Live With Kidi” show on July 29.

He noted that his  comments were not meant to disrespect anyone but were made from a place of pain and disappointment due to the insults hurled at him and his mother.

In an interview with Andy Dosty, on Daybreak Hitz. on Hitz FM, he stated that fans who want to enjoy the concert despite the prices can purchase standard tickets, worth GH¢100.

“First of all, there are different packages and these are table packages. When you go to nightclubs, they sell tables for different price packages. They have the 5k table, 10k table, and 15k table. So, you will have to buy what you can afford.”

“Apart from table packages, there are regular prices for people who do not want a table, because they are alone, so the table prices are packages meant for groups of people,” the ‘Touch It’ hitmaker said.

KiDi explained that the tables worth GH¢10,000 and above all come with benefits including champagne bottles, cognac, whiskey, tequila, mixers, and water, adding that, friends can contribute to buy any table of their choice.

In response to their criticism, KiDi apologized to those who were upset by his statements on social media.

“A lot of times, people forget that we are not robots. We feel emotions just like everybody else. We go through all the emotions people go through, sometimes even more. You see it’s painful, it’s my job that I do. I mean I wasn’t asked to do it, but I love it and I do it for people to be happy.”

“I do these things for myself and for people to be happy. That comment wasn’t made to disrespect anybody, if anybody felt disrespected I apologize.”
