Abla Dzifa Gomashie has reiterated her ministry’s commitment to creating more opportunities for young Ghanaians to contribute to national development through arts and culture.

She made the remarks during the National Heritage Photo Competition Awards ceremony held at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, where she highlighted government’s dedication to strengthening the creative arts sector under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama.

According to the Minister, the government is focused on establishing platforms that encourage young people to use creativity and culture as tools for national growth and development.

The National Heritage Photo Competition, organised by the Ministry in partnership with UNESCO, offers young people under the age of 25 an opportunity to showcase Ghana’s cultural heritage through photography and visual storytelling.

The awards ceremony, which marked the conclusion of the competition, featured performances by the Ghana Dance Ensemble, remarks from UNESCO Country Director Edmond Mukala, and the presentation of awards to outstanding participants.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including representatives from the embassies of Barbados, Togo, and Mali, as well as a former Prime Minister of Tunisia.

The Minister also commended the organisers, partners, and stakeholders for supporting the initiative, adding that the Ministry remains committed to using creative arts, dance, and photography to preserve and promote Ghanaian culture and identity.
