Laboma Beach in La, Accra, came alive on Easter Monday as families, friends, and couples gathered to celebrate picnic day, soaking in the sun, vibrant music, and joyful festivities.

The beach transformed into a vibrant party scene, with music blasting from speakers, laughter filling the air, and the aroma of barbecued meat lingering as revelers of all ages engaged in fun activities.

Colorful beach umbrellas and tents dotted the shoreline as people in beachwear played volleyball and soccer, while children splashed in the cool ocean waves. Ama Mensah, a university student, described the event as the perfect escape from academic stress.

“It’s been hectic with exams, but today I just want to unwind with my friends. There’s something about the ocean breeze and the sound of waves that just clears your mind,” she said, smiling while holding a cold drink.

Kwame Adjei, an entrepreneur, who attended with his girlfriend and friends, said the highlight of the day was enjoying good company and laughter.

“We packed some jollof, grilled chicken, and drinks. Nothing fancy, but it’s the vibe that counts. We are a perfect mix of families, lovers, and groups out here to enjoy ourselves. It’s these small moments that remind you to slow down and enjoy life,” he said.

Madam Martha Owusu, a mother of two, described the day as “a much-needed family bonding time” as she set up a picnic spot with her children, who spent their time chasing waves and building sandcastles.

“They’re having so much fun, and it’s giving me a chance to relax and catch up with other moms. Picnic Day at Laboma is more than fun – it’s therapy, and the cleanliness of the beach is top-notch. Such days must become more of a regular event,” she said with a satisfied sigh.

The atmosphere reached a fever pitch by late afternoon as people danced and sang along to their favorite tunes, indulging in cold drinks and local cuisine.

Couples strolled hand-in-hand, some choosing the beach front as the perfect spot for proposals and romantic getaways. Mr. Emmanuel Arthur, Human Resource Manager at Laboma Beach, described the venue as a modern beach that prioritizes safety, excitement, cleanliness, and fun.

“We have the police marine, in-house lifeguards, and Ghana police, and so far, there has not been any casualty. We are elated about that. The beach runs 24 hours, and we are prepared for that,” he said,
