The family of late Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo has called on the media and the public to respect their privacy as they prepare for her one-week remembrance vigil scheduled for Saturday, May 30.
In a statement issued through Cine-God Studios, the family requested prayers, support, and understanding as they mourn the actress, who passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the age of 42.
The one-week remembrance will take place at the Green Flavour Events Centre in Community 9, Tema, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and is expected to celebrate her life and contributions to Ghana’s creative industry.
Guests are expected to wear black and red, and the programme will include worship sessions, scripture readings, tributes from family and colleagues, musical performances, a sermon, and symbolic activities such as torch lighting and balloon release.
The family expressed gratitude for the widespread support received since her passing but urged the public and media to be considerate as they make arrangements for her final funeral rites, details of which will be announced later.
Since news of her death broke, tributes have poured in from fans and industry figures who described her as talented, warm-hearted, and committed to her craft.
Born on May 28, 1983, Beverly Afaglo built a career in Ghana’s film industry, appearing in popular productions such as Return of Beyonce, Crime to Christ, Girls Connection, Single Six, A Northern Affair, and Sidechic Gang.
She also studied journalism and public relations at the Ghana Institute of Journalism, trained in beauty therapy, and later ventured into entrepreneurship.
She was married to musician Choirmaster, and they had two children together.
