Former Ghana captain Andre Morgan Ayew is set to become a free agent as his contract with Le Havre comes to an end on June 30.

Ayew re-joined the French Ligue 1 outfit on a short-term deal, helping the club to escape relegation on final at the weekend. In fact, his performances overshadowed the side’s struggles in the recently concluded campaign.

The experienced forward lasted 64minutes as his outfit prevailed with a 3-2 victory over Strasbourg to cement their place in the top-flight.

With his contract expiring and no contract renewal talks yet, the former Swansea star could depart the club for a new challenge.

After arriving at the club in October 2024, the highly-profiled Ghanaian attacker made 28 appearances across competitions, scoring 4 goals and delivering an assist across the period.

Ayew will have to find himself a new club if he is unable to renew his contract the French Ligue 1 club.

The 35-year-old forward has had an illustrious career, featuring for a couple of clubs in Europe including Marseille, West Ham United, Swansea City, Fenerbahce and others. He recently marked his 500th career game in the just ended season.

The former Swansea City and Marseille star has not featured for the Black Stars since his involvement in an international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda back in March 2024.

Ayew is the most capped Ghanaian footballer with a record 120 appearances, scoring 24 goals for Ghana.
