A GH¢5 million two-storey administrative building for the Head of State Award Scheme, which began in April 2021 under the previous administration, is still unfinished. The facility is expected to function as the headquarters for the youth development programme.
Addressing attendees at the Head of State Award Ceremony on Wednesday, April 1, President Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to seeing the project through to completion. He noted that for 70 years, the initiative has shaped leaders, innovators, and change-makers in Ghana, becoming a symbol of hope, discipline, and transformation.
As Chief Patron, he emphasized his dedication to completing the Ghana Awards House and revealed that he has directed the GETFund to provide the necessary resources. He added that the completed facility would stand as a lasting symbol of the programme’s legacy and the nation’s investment in its youth.
